Using Zoom is easy and requires no additional hardware or specialized training. It can be used to set up 1:1 meetings, integrate with Blackboard to conduct a class fully online, or host small group meetings via phone or audio/video. Zoom is a cloud-based platform that is provided to the USC community at no charge. Once enabled, transcripts are automatically generated for new cloud recordings of meetings you scheduled. You can enable the Audio transcript option in the settings of your personal Zoom account. Having said that, there are no time restrictions on one-on-one video calls. Unfortunately, free users get only limited time for the meetings or conferences. The participants are visible on-screen in a grid-style display. For instance, you can access Zoom Rooms to host virtual meetings with up to 100 people. While most companies consider one of the paid subscription plans, Zoom Meetings offers some useful features with the free account. You can get the recording passcode in plain text using the Get Meeting Recording Settings endpoint ( -reference/zoom-api/cloud-recording/recordingsettingupdate), but there is no way to encrypt it and include it in the play URL.
